Is he for real? Not yet. Will he be? Probably. He still is an inexperienced QB--I don't think he's started 16 games yet, or if he's had, it's close. As last week's performance showed, even in the fun and gun, he is not a lock for quality points every week. Probably a Top 10-12 QB right now though.
The one thing to me that says he is .....he keeps getting slowly better. When a young QB slowly gets better his confidence grows. He then starts to consistently make better reads, feel the rush, check off, and dump off if he has nada or throw OB from outside the hashes. Why do they not like to start a Carson Palmer. Only a few guys are like Manning day 1.
I know VHawk, but are we commenting on a four game snap shot or overall fantasy point scoring ability. A healthy Mike Vick scores more points than Ramsey; a Mark Bulger that starts and plays all four games scores more points than Ramsey too.
I would rank FANTASY QBs in the following order, assuming std. scoring but where passing TDs are only 4 while rushing TDs are 6.
At this point, I would put Ramsey/Brady/T. Green in a grouping.
Of course, this is subjective and anyone can disagree, but this is the basis for my opinion--long term/keeper type focus rather than just the first 4 games.
Also on Ramsey, remember the 2d half vs. the Jets--very human looking. This past week vs. Green Bay, very human looking. He did well against the Giants, but so did Quincy Carter. He did well against the Falcons, but so did Quincy Carter! I am not down on Ramsey at all--I think he's solid. I am just being realistic folks.
I like him. I think right now you can get him cheap in a trade if you put in a name player like a Boston, Booker or Price. Somebody not really doing anything but has a name everyone knows.
THAT IS WHY THEY PLAY THE GAME!!!!!
