Are we the worst team in the league?

If you guys lose to Detroit this week, then YES you are the worst team in the league. Oakland and Tennessee are your biggest rivals. It should be a 3-way dance for worst record.

But yah, it's gonna be a long season for ya cheeseheads. I know you guys love Favre, but the time to let Rodgers play is NOW!!

If I thought letting Rodgers play this year would make him prepared for a playoff run next year, I would agree with you. But the fact is that we absolutely suck so badly we have AT LEAST 2 years of rebuilding to do before we have a shot at anything meaningful. Might as well enjoy watching Favre for another year.

In fact, I think Favre is doing Rodgers a favor. Breaking in an entirely new offensive line, taking all the criticism and attention, leaving Rodgers with nothing to do but become the next Carson Palmer (yeah, right). But at least the same idea.

I don't see anything useful in having Rodgers getting thumped a dozen times a game, losing games in the most embarrassing ways, and then having to deal with the media afterward. Look at David Carr. The experience has ruined his career, not helped it. And all the time, Rodgers would be looking like an a$$ on the field with Green Bay's most popular player sitting on the bench. It doesn't make any sense. I don't see how it would benefit him or the team.

Don't get me wrong, I am Packers fan through and through, but I am a realist as well.

Nice win this week though.

Write it down -- October 3rd, 2006 -- the day when the Packers finally bulldozed the iconic eyesore to the ground and officially began rebuilding. From this day forward, we can proudly say we are a young, improving team.

Ahmad Carroll -- cut by the Green Bay Packers!!!!!!!!!!

If it ends up that way, I won't be mad. He's got some skills and Ahman is hurting again.... and probably again later this season... damn him. If only he could stay healthy again.

I think our draft picks look pretty solid so far. We've got Hawk and Jennings absolutely tearing it up. Spitz, Moll, and Colledge are all making an impact on the O-line. In fact, Clifton and Tauscher have given up the biggest plays and drawn some bad penalties this year. That fumble by Favre against STL.... I think we'll be grooming Colledge to make an impact at T for next year. I had high expectations for Hodge, but he looks bad in pass coverage. Poppinga and Pickett are mild surprises in Run stopping at least.
ADMIN edit: please note that the overall sig limit is 12k - thanks!

I would rather see the Pack make a play for a guy like michael turner, or maybe even thomas jones.

Then, with driver getting up there in age, they can draft calvin johnson and give rodgers one hell of a wr set to through to in jennings and johnson.

And please, please, please let them get a safty with some speed, via trade, free agency, whatever.

Other than at safty, I like the defense. Some of the younger guys will get better, and they should be decent, they just need some speed in the secondary. They keep getting burned by WRs.

I like how the O line has improved this season. They looked bad in week one, and have looked better each week since.

so, thats my proposed plan for packers sucess in 2007

Acquire Michael Turner via restricted Free Agency.
Acquire a Speedy Safty to protect against the long ball, via free agency or trade
Draft Calvin Johnson in the first round
Hope to god that rodgers can cut it in the NFL

Maybe even in the second round they could find a nice young TE prospect as well.
