Building a Brick Fire Pit

I'm sure you've seen them but if you want something really temporary you could get a portable fire pit.

That's similar to what I have right now and we've used it a lot. The one we have is bigger than that and it has an arm that swings out if you want to grill with it. But we've used it so much that it's beginning to look pretty rough, so we want something middle-of-the-road permanent. Not mobile, but movable.

Small cracks in the grout and I didn't get the stain sealer on it quick enough, so it appears dirty now. Anyway to get that cleaned up without having to regrout, like I've already done once?

Have you tried bleach? It sounds like you might have a mold/mildew set in. Is this in your shower or kitchen?

If you do try bleach try to find an inconspicuous spot in the grout and test the bleach on it for color-fastness.[/quote]

Yeah, I finally got around to giving this a shot just a short while ago in a corner of the bathroom. When that worked, I tried along a wall in the kitchen. Works like a charm. With winter setting in I should have some time to take on this task and finally make it look the way it's supposed to.

Now, about those cracks...
