We'll probably end up #5 with two teams ahead of us losing this weekend, and I think that a top 5 team may be a bit high. Our offense finally has looked consistently solid this year (especially considering our biggest playmaker got hurt in the 1st quarter last night) but UT really started exposing our major weakness in the secondary. It's tough to say though because our biggest pitfall has been that we are terrible on the road and even if UT isn't that great it's still good for our team to go in and get a win in one of the toughest stadiums in football.
Also while we were lucky to win even by 1 (I thought we were done for in the 4th) UF could've really been in control of that game if not for an absolutely brutal call completely negating a long punt return TD we had. It was a block in the back call on one of those crackback blocks you always see on lateral runs where the defender totally doesn't see the guy coming. Hit him dead in the side of those shoulder just like those blocks always do and I've never seen one called that way before.
Defensive line looked good, definitely one of the best in the country as everyone has said and Marcus Thomas is probably the best DT we've ever had at Florida. The front 4 get a lot of pressure but we still blitz a LOT (which I still like) and our CBs can't handle the 1on1 coverage against good WRs right now. Our run D looked GREAT though against a team that traditionally runs all over us.
Either way, we'll lose eventually as we pretty much start running the gauntlet here shortly with Alabama, LSU, Auburn, and Georgia back to back to back to back.

I would say they did OK at best, and would tentatively give them a D+ for the game. Keep in mind UT absolutely could not run the ball last night (literally, they could not get a two yard gain even...they ended up with 2 yards on 22 carries) and UT still moved the ball consistently. There was one drive in particular that I recall went something like...
1st and 10 - Run for 1 yard
2nd and 9 - Run for no gain
3rd and 9 - Pass for first down
Then rinse, lather, and repeat 6 times. They forced the run on 1st and 2nd down repeatedly and repeatedly got themselves into 3rd and long and we just couldn't stop them as soon as they dropped back to pass.

He does, but this was a freshman in the 3rd game of the year in a huge game on the road in one of the toughest places to play in college football, Meyer didn't want any freshman mistakes in a 1-point game and they couldn't stop him running even though they knew it was coming so there was really no need to let him throw.
Nice grind-it-out runs, but that can't be all he was touted for. I would think Leak has just as much running ability if not more.
Wow....seriously?!??!?!?!? That's like saying that I have just as much running ability if not more than Barry Sanders in his prime. I mean, Leak is a passing QB but if we're grading running ability Leak is one of the worst I've ever seen for a "running QB" and Tebow has promise to be one of the best. Leak absolutely will not take a hit (didn't you see him slide 1 yard short of the first down on a crucial 3rd down play? He's done that a half-dozen times now) which absolutely blows up half of our run plays. I would say there's a fair chance that Leak has 0 YAC in his entire 4-year career. If you put Leak in on those plays where everyone knows he's running and run up the middle like Tebow did (and Tebow picked up 2-6 yards on) there's no doubt in my mind that Leak loses 3 yards on the play. On that 4th down 3 guys stood up Tebow a half yard short and he just pushed them through for the 1st. You will never, ever, ever see that out of Leak even if he's playing against 4 year olds.
I love Leak, but let's not even compare his running ability to Tebow's. They're not even in the same universe.
