I know, it probably wasn't the greatest move. But, here's what I was thinking: Dam this beer tastes good. Then I starting thinking this: Addai probably will never be able to rack up huge numbers, because he's not an every down back. Defenses seem to eat this little dude up, unless he's utilized in their passing game....which is good for him, but at the same time, Indy has plenty of other options in their passing attack. With him getting minimal to NO goal line duty...He doesn't look like Captain Point Fest. Also, for some reason, I have this wierd feeling that fierce running of Brandon Jacobs is going to have to take Tiki's place at some point in this season...Either because of an injury to Tiki or some other reason. Maybe not. Who knows.
Tiki is going to have to get hurt for Jacobs to put up huge numbers. He won't displace him this year on performance. What he does have is a defined role, with upside in case of injury to Tiki.
Addai is the one whose performance may supplant the RB ahead of him. His role is defined at the moment, but it may not take an injury for him to seize the job.
I think he'll be decent at the goal line. He's bigger than Rhodes. One of Addai's strengths is his pass blocking so I think there is a good chance he could be in there as the featured RB and on passing plays. It doesn't sound like there are any glaring holes in his game, so I expect he can be an option in their pass heavy offense.
You probably made the safer move, but I don't see much other than spot duty and goal line/short yardage work from Jacobs unless Tiki goes out.
All he'll do is score touchdowns.
The meek ain't gonna inherit $#!%....'cuz I'll TAKE IT!
If Tiki gets hurt, this will turn out to be a good move, but otherwise I don't think that Jacobs will put up much in the way of numbers except for the ocasional 1 yd. TD.
I probably would have dropped someone else as well, but Jacobs will get about 10-15 carries himself and he's a steamroller. Plus, he will get most of the carries within the 5 yard line. He's my 4th, bye week fillin.
