A week or two ago me and DGroundhog were saying that the problem with comparing the VBD # for Manning was that he was so consistent and the players who came close to him varied. So sure there will be one or two QBs close to him (or even better) but the tough part of it is picking them pre-season or even week to week. So I have a friendly tracking going on with this with someone else here and I thought I'd open it up to the Cafe and the rest of the field.
So each week I'll post a thread letting people vote for a QB to start that week that can be anybody except Peyton and I'll track the Cafe's choice vs. Peyton's production. Standard scoring (using fractional scoring):
1 pt - 10 yards rushing
1 pt - 25 yards passing
6 pts - rushing TD
4 pts - passing TD (although I'm tempted to say 6 since I do play in leagues where all TD's are 6 pts but we'll err on the side of being against Peyton).
2 pts - passing or rushing 2-pt conversion
-2 pts - INTs
-4 pts - FUMs lost
If you think this is a stupid idea, great. Ignore the thread. If you want to prove that Manning has, at best, 3rd round value, this is your chance to do it.
As far as the first two weeks, I'll just average Manning's production over the other 12 for the rest of a normal 14-week FF regular season. And do the same for the Cafe's choices.
I'm honestly curious to see how this turns out.
