Rod Smith Outlook

Postby Kilroy » Mon Sep 18, 2006 12:55 am

I drafted Rod in all 3 of my leagues this year, thinking he'd be a solid WR3. Through two games I've been disappointed to say the least. What do y'all think, will the Bronco's passing game (and Smith) get it together, or is trouble afoot at Mile High?

I give the Broncos passing game one more week to get it right before I give up all hope.

Rod was beaten up pretty good yesterday. But more worrisome than that for Smith owners is that it looked to me like Walker is taking hold. He could turn into Plummer's goto guy, not good for Rod.

I have Rod in two leagues... needless to say, I'm a bit concerned.

I know it's early & he's my #3 WR as well but he's looked awful. I'm not sure if it's his age or the QB (probably a combo of both).

With the concussion I'm thinking he needs to ride the pine for a bit.

He got rocked a couple of times yesterday. Remember, this is a guy who made his living over the middle getting rocked. He also looks very old all of a sudden and Walker will quickly become the go to guy.

Cotchery is still on the WW and I think I'll drop Rod for him tomorrow.

It's not just Rod either. Plummer is horrible.

I have Troy Williamson, Braylon Edwards, Darrell Jackson & Andre Johnson on my team and I wouldn't even consider starting Smith over any of those guys.

He's old and the offense is stagnating.

The Broncos offense has become very conservative the last two years. Alot of that is because their defense is much improved, but Shanahan does not seem to have alot of faith in Plummer, perhaps justifiably so. I know they don't want to give Cutler the starting spot on a team with playoff aspirations, but if the Broncos ever want to win a superbowl again it will never be with Plummer.

Im in a similar situation. I've been completely disgusted with R.S. and the entire Denver offense. Not sure if they are wishing for Cutler, but it looks like they aren't even trying?? I am trying to decide which WR to give up on. E. Moulds and his helpless qb Carr, or R.Smith ? good luck to ya
