Or do you guys think this is his true value?
I'm sure it's directly related to Pennington, so I guess the question is, How long do you think Pennington will remain healthy?
I don't think he's a sell-high. He's performed well against a tough NE defense, and his stats so far have been consistent. Wait a week or two to sell high, but for now you won't get more than he's worth.
I definitely think he is a sell high. Did you see his TD yesterday?? he had to make some insane moves to get it... I think by the end of the year the yards will be there but the TDs will not, as the Jets are bound to fall off some without a consistent running game... I'm thinking about offering Coles and Caddy for LJ and some WR or something like that myself because I dont think his value will be ever as high as it is right now
Can anyone smell another 2002 for Coles? Who was throwing the ball to him then? Chad Pennington.
Who is throwing the ball to him now? Chad Pennington.
Now you might say Chad Pennington sucks. In 2003, in 2004, and in 2005 I would agree with you. But this is not the Chad Pennington of the last 3 years. This is the Chad Pennington of "old."
I see no reason at all for Coles numbers to drop much and I think a 1100yd+ season is within reach.
With a non-existant running game you gotta believe that Pennington will continue to throw the ball a ton. He has looked very good so far, I didn't expect a good performance against NE this past week but Penny looked good and he always looks for Coles first. I think Coles is in for a good year, I wouldn't deal him.

They also have some tough games: Indy, Jax, New England, Miami x2, Chicago and Minny
I don't really see Indy, NE, Miami, and Minnesota as really that tough of matchups either. If those are the toughest he's got then Penny could be in for a very nice season, and if Penny does well, Coles will do well.

Sell this guy now at a sky high valuation before he kills your fantasy team.
Get LJ Smith for him. Get Steve McNair for him. Get a future draft pick. Get a 6 pack and pack of smokes.

So you mean the Chad Pennington of 2002 (3120 / 22 / 6).
But I might add that '04 was a pretty good season for him too.
But we're not talking about whether Chad is a first rate fantasy QB, which I doubt he ever will be for an entire season.
We are talking about Coles. He's on pace for 2016 yards and 8 TDs. The TDs look more attainable than the yards, so you could say he is over-valued based on those yards. So by all mean, if you can trade him for Larry Johnson, then do it.
But let's not be ridiculous. Coles is the #1 receiver in what looks to be a pretty good passing offense, and one that is destined to be playing from behind rather often this year. I think he'll be valuable all season.
