All-Conference Teams

Postby thatonepoorkid » Mon Sep 18, 2006 12:10 pm

Not a really important post but, a few friends and I where debating what conference (Big Ten, Big East, ACC, and so on.) has put the best players in the NFL. We started to put together our teams. I wanna see what our wonderful members in the cafe thought.

For an example here is a roster (poorly put together i might add)

QB: Tom Brady (Mich)
RB: Larry Johnson (Penn State)
WR: Braylon Edwards (Mich)
WR:
TE:

DL: Will Smith (OSU)
DL:
LB: AJ Hawk (OSU)
CB or S: Chris Gamble (OSU)

SEC

QB: Peyton Manning, Tenn
RB: Shaun Alexander, Bama
FB: Mack Strong, Georgia
WR: Hines Ward, Georgia
WR: Michael Clayton, LSU
TE: Jason Witten, Tenn
OL: Willie Anderson, Auburn
OL: Alan Faneca, LSU
OL: Chris Spencer, Ole Miss
OL: Shawn Andrews, Arkansas
OL: Chad Clifton, Tenn

I'll do defense later. Keep in mind the SEC is a defensive conference.

I think we should define this first of all. Is it best players still in the NFL but best is determined by their play during their prime or best players still in the NFL where best is determind by their play today?

Here's my SEC Defensive Team. This list is pretty nice but not as impressive as I thought it might turn out to be. I gotta be missing some people too as I don't have anybody from LSU or Auburn so I have to be forgetting somebody. But anyways...

DL - Jon Abraham, South Carolina
DL - Marcus Stroud, UGA
DL - John Henderson, Tenn
DL - Richard Seymour, UGA

LB - Al Wilson, Tenn
LB - Shelton Quarles, Vandy
LB - Channing Crowder, UF (gotta throw in the homer pick)

DB - Ken Lucas, Ole Miss
DB - Champ Bailey, UGA
DB - Lito Sheppard, UF
DB - Corey Chavous, Vandy
