Two weeks in--Rank your top 25 players

Postby FF Newbie » Mon Sep 18, 2006 6:19 pm

Who are your top 25 if a redraft were to be held now after week two? I might move these around a little bit, but I think this would be my top-25. Actually, I'm listing 26, 'cause I can't bring myself to leave Gates out despite the slow start.

    1. LT
    2. LJ (no TDs yet, but huge yardage totals)
    3. SA
    4. Rudi
    5. SJax (see LJ)
    6. Tiki (losing some carries to Jacobs)
    7. Gore (can he keep it up?)
    8. Westy
    9. FWP (let's see what he does tonight against Jax)
    10. Peyton (gonna be throwing a LOT)
    11. Portis (should be back soon)
    12. Ronnie (no competition for carries)
    13. Harrison
    14. Fitz
    15. CJ
    16. Holt
    17. Boldin
    18. Edge
    19. Palmer
    20. McNabb
    21. Smith (hamstrings)
    22. TO (hand)
    23. McGahee
    24. Dunn
    25. C. Taylor (heavy workload)
    26. Gates (still have him here despite slow start)

Umm, care to rank your top-25, moonhead? Move Dunn up a spot or two in yours if you want to, but he hasn't been that much better than McGahee. I just listed my top-25 in general order. I didn't excruciate over whether to put a particular player at #23 or #24.

P.S. McGahee was going almost two rounds ahead of Dunn a couple of weeks ago, so Dunn outgaining him by 30 yards in weeks 1 and 2 isn't really enough to justify putting him in the top 10, imo.

Because he thinks Willis will be more valuable throughout the course of the season, I'd imagine.

Okay, I can dig it. Sort of like Funston's Big Board (http://fantasysports.yahoo.com/analysis/news?slug=bf-bigboard-football&prov=yhoo&type=lgns&league=fantasy/nfl).

Here's my shot:
1. Tomlinson
2. Alexander
3. Larry Johnson -- this may be too generous
4. Rudi Johnson
5. Tiki
6. Steven Jackson
7. Ronnie Brown
8. Willie Parker
9. Torry Holt
10. Marvin Harrison
11. Edge
12. Warrick Dunn
13. Cadillac
14. Portis -- he loses value if he's not playing, duh
15. Fitzgerald
16. Peyton
17. Chad Johnson
18. Westbrook
19. McGahee
20. Gore
21. Carson Palmer
22. Boldin
23. Julius Jones
24. Fred Taylor
25. Deuce

Note: Steve Smith can't justifiably be ranked in my top 25 as long as he's not playing. Same with T.O.

I understand what you're saying about Smith and TO, but would you really rather have Fred Taylor or Deuce on your team than Steve Smith?

Last I checked, Cadillac wasn't playing either :-°
I disagree with you putting him that high...Just about every RB under him has outpreformed him by a lot.

I'm probably just venting because I have him in two leagues :-o

So you don't think moving Keyshawn and Parker for Brown is an improvement (a trade I pulled off getting Brown after week 1)? I like Parker a lot this year and had him on my RB Cheatsheet at #7, but for my money Brown's a top-5 player with two big games to start the season.

Keep in mind that my QBs may be ranked slightly higher than they deserve, as history proves that when the weather turns foul, the sort of games these guys have hard are hard to come by unless you play in a dome).

1. Alexander (Gaining momentum)
2. Tomlinson (soft D faced, he'll be great but not this great. Also SD tendency to pull him for Turner sets a ceiling for his production)
3. RBrown (playing tough Ds, put up good numbers)
4. Jackson (STL offense will give him many opportunities to grind out great games)
5. Johnson (Although the TD are lacking, the yardage is superb)
6. Tiki (Yardage outweighs the scarcity of TD)
7. McGahee (Looking very strong, expect big things)
8. Rudi (Something tells me this "tough schedule" won't limit the league's 2nd-best offense so much)
9. CTaylor (Wow. He's surprised one doubter, as has Minnestoa...expect 1400yd and double digit TDs)
10. Parker (His schedule is looking very tough now, but so far so good)
11. Edge
12. Manning
13. Palmer
14. CJohnson (Let's hope he stops getting laid out between the numbers and keeps up the stats)
15. Harrison (Manning remembered how good he is. Primed for a great year)
16. McNabb (He's back big-time)
17. Dunn (Vick steals his goal line TDs though)
18. Portis (Skins are letting him get healthy and seem committed to the run in almost any situation)
19. Fitzgerald
20. FTaylor (Undervalued)
21. Deuce (Bush gets yards, but Deuce gets yards and scores)
22. Holt (and he's falling in my rankings if Bulger and STL continues to struggle offensively)
23. Gore (Health worries me, as does the SF need to play catchup)
24. Boldin (Warner spreads the ball evenly)
25. Addai (Give him a week or two more and he'll be on fire. Grab him now if you have the goods to offer and the need for a #2 or #3.)

In my eyes, he's at #26 and may crack the top-25 soon.
