Most of us that have been doing this for any length of time have seen it happen. The draft rolls around to some new guy or some clueless Joe who just doesn't get it. The room gets quiet with anticipation, and then clueless guy announces that he's drafting someone who retired two seasons prior or some other nonsense.
Gut busting laughter ensues as clueless guy looks around with that classic "what?" look on his face.
What is the most hilarious pick that you have personally witnessed?
Last year, a newbie in my 10 team league drafted Akers in the 2d round. We were ribbing him all year about it.
This year, the same guy drafted Goings in the 7th round!! (we're not laughing, though, because he's in first place so far this year)
A guy picked back to back kickers in the 6/7 rounds...then went on to say, "you guys will be coming to me when you need a kicker". For some reason that was it first and only season in the league
jake delhomme the year after the panthers made the bowl, some dude in my office elague took him one overall. I was really mad, because then someone else did something stupid, and it really ended up staking some teams.
If a trade can be vetoed, a completely idiotic first round pick should be too.

No way would you want to veto a dufus 1st round pick. That is exactly what you WANT to happen if you are drafting behind the guy.
