I saw someone take Peyton Manning in the mid-1st round this year. Swear to God I'm not making this stuff up.

This probably happened in hundreds of leagues. Don't think Peyton Manning in Round 1 qualifies for worst pick ever by any stretch of the imagination.

Ummm, that post was dripping with sarcasm...
No drafts yet.

A guy took Gates 3rd overall in one of my money leagues this year. That's about as bad as I can remember.

How about Marion Barber in the 1st round, then Mike McMahon in the 2nd. And the guy was serious...[/b]

Man, I've seen tons of horrible picks. I'm pretty sure drafting Ryan Longwell in the first round could be one of the worst. Maybe a guy who drafted Priest Holmes this year too.

This season, a guy was gloating near the end of draft.

Watch my last pick, its a sleeper in a very serious mood and smiling.

Then he picked Jerome Bettis.

2004 - 10 team league, 20 man roster, start 3 IDP's. # 13 overall pick in the 2nd round - Warren Sapp. This guy had taken a QB (T. Green) with his 1st pick at # 8, which seemed questionable at the time, but actually turned out to be an OK pick. But among the RBs still available at # 13 were Tiki, C. Martin, D. Davis, Dillon, Rudi J., and Westbrook.

This guy also took D. Akers in the 6th round, and didn't take a RB until the 7th round, when he got way-over-the-hill Eddie George. Somehow, he still managed a 6th place finish at 7-6-1, and just missed the playoffs.

chicago bears d/st with the 7th overall.

i was so flabbergasted, i had to consciously try to regain my focus. his whole draft was pretty bad, but this took the cake.

For all these newbie mistake picks, you've got to get your feet wet sometime. Think back to your first draft.....
