I'm a diehard Skins Fan (skinsfan, more accurately). I listen to Czaban most mornings, and Brian Mitchell with Doc Walker in the afternoons. Here's what I hear from the local fans:
-"Brunell should hang it up. He's done, his arm is shot, and he's tto jittery. But we don't have any other options" or "While we're losing we might as well play Campbell, we didn't trade that 1st round pick for nothing." - the chicken littles
-"Brunell needs more time and it's the blockers' fault. The lack of a running game is hurting too. Get Portis back full-time and Brunell will play better and this offense will get on track." - the Brunell apologists and Portis adorers
-"Ol Danny Boy once again made too many changes. Shoulda kept an identical roster. Rich fan owner doesn't know how to spend his money, and he charges too much for everything. And screw Virginia fans too for paying the ridiculous prices." - the complainers
The radio guys and other sportstalk people generally are in one of the first two groups. Most don't feel the season is lost but that it's slipping quickly, and that Brunell is a poor choice at QB.
I'm a mix of the first two fan opinions. I don't think the season is lost, and I don't think that pulling a rusty QB will end the season. Look at the Steelers when they gave Rothlisberger the job after Maddox' injury.
