Brunell is awful, that's what has happened to Cooley.

Houston gives up a ton of yards in the air, so if he doesn't get a fair share of catches on Sunday, he's starting to look like waiver wire fodder :-o

Is anybody "In" the Washington offense? That is his problem right there. I agree, if they don't score at least 3 TD's this week, they're in a world of hurt.

I agree. Brunell just plain sucks and it seems no one has been listening to me when I tell them this. I'd stay from anyone on Washington except Portis.

There's not a damn thing wrong with Cooley. Maybe the Skins would win more if they started going his way.

I have heard he may be a bit out of shape.

But the real problem with Cooley is a combination of Mark Brunell and the fact that he's only played 2 games

Is it really a surprise he isn't doing anything?

Last year he was the second target, behind moss...now he's like the 4th target.

He only did good last year because of the lack of skill around him.

Thats not true. Its not like Lloyd and Randle El are lighting the world on fire. The offense stinks in general right now, its not Cooleys fault.

If Cooley doesn't produce at least 50 yards and or a TD this weekend, he is staying on my bench permanently until he blows up.

I'm willing to blame the Redskin offense in general more than anything right now for his performance, but it could also be the system. A matchup against Houston should be the perfect litmus test of how the Redskin's WANT to use Cooley. This is game they should handily score points in if they are going to at all this season.

Right now, it's hard to tell what they can do versus what they are willing to do, with Portis out. No one respects Ladell Betts and TJ Duckett enough to stack the box against the run, so Brunell is seeing a lot of pressure and throwing into coverage. Cooley is staying in to block a LOT more than last year, which could be a short term effect of Portis being out, or it could be a change in the system...

I've seen Cooley targeted a couple times down the field, but I expected that to happen much more frequently than it is happening now. And I really dislike how the TEs are being used in general with the constant 3 WR sets are being used. Again like I said at the beginning of my post, I think at least 3 or 4 catches and 50 yards is the absolute minimum I would want to see out of Cooley right now. If he manages a 5/80/1 type day and Portis plays well it will be a huge relief for all us.
