Of course he didn't bench Eli. QBs are going to turn the ball over, coaches live with that. They turn the ball over because they are trying to make plays and that's what coaches expect from the QB position. WRs who turn the ball over in consecutive drives, however, deserve to be benched 9 times out of 10.
Couldn't agree more. Receivers need to do more to help their quarterbacks, especially in big games. Plax was not helping. He deserved the benching. Someone like Hines Ward would have put down a clinic for Trufant, Hamlin, and that other cat.
