Rebounding from 0-3

Postby Kilroy » Sun Sep 24, 2006 10:46 pm

So after the second straight week of my opponent posting the high score in the League for the Week my $$$ League Team is 0-3 and I'm reeling.

Does anyone have any stories of rebounding from 0-3 to make the playoffs? If so please post them here so that I may take solace in the fact that my season might not be completely screwed.

Must...not...panic. Must...stay...the...course. :-o

Let's see your team. It may be best to cut bait. Can you trade for draft picks in your league? I've built for next year when I had a good but unlucky team before.

I started 0-5 in one league last year (drafted Lewis, McAllister, Walker, and Clayton in rounds 1, 2, 4, and 6) and went on to win the league. A few good trades and having LJ on my bench when Priest went down turned my team around. I snuck into the playoffs with a 7-7 record (10 team league, 4 playoff spots) and dominated from there.

I started 0-3 last year and proceeded to win the rest of my games and roll to the title. The championship game was a battle but I took down the number 1 seed in a really close matchup. Just worry about sneaking into the playoffs, from there anything can happen. I don't care too much about the regular season unless I start off really hot and am attempting to go undefeated...and let me put it this way...I've never had a hot start...ever. Once you get the first win, things will right themselves, assuming you have a fairly competitive team of course lol.

8 Teams, Standard Scoring (no PPR) Start 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, IK, 1D/ST:

QB: Warner, Bulger
RB: Alexander, Bush, McGahee, Parker
WR: Harrison, Holt, M. Jones, R. Smith, Stallworth
TE: Heap, Watson
K: Akers
D/ST: Buffalo, Philly

I'm gonna drop Buffalo (Thanks for Nothin' Ladies :-P ) and R. Smith's on thin ice too.

Looks like an OK Squad on Paper, but it's just not translating into points/wins.

Probably doesn't help that through three weeks my Points against average is 111/game.

Dude, you have a nice team. Stick it out. Bad luck hits every once in a while, but with that quality and depth you should be able to maneuver your way into the playoffs. Your depth could really save you when other guy's players start going down with injuries.

I had a crappy start last year and stormed back to take the division lead, the 1st round bye (which saved me) and eventually win the championship game. It's a long season.
