Nice debate, by the way. I kinda hope I don't have to debate against you this week.
I would definately say buy him. He's been a good player, his struggles this year could be contributed to the foot. If he has time to heal up he could be the deciding factor in a championship run.
I think that SAlex has got at least one or two good years left in him. He didn't damage a knee or anything just a minor bone in the foot, if I'm reading this right. He'll probably be back in a month or so. I say if you can get him cheap, especially if you're in a keeper league, go for it.

I've been worried about SA since start of season... Madden curse aside, losing Hutchinson, and not playing for the big money... Are serious red flags..
Thing is.. I just didn't want to give him away, if I traded him... I wanted to get what I wanted, and especially in my "Keeper" money league!
Yesterday morning Just traded:
Shaun Alexander and Chad Johnson
for:
LT straight up! (The guy thought he was getting a steal, and taking advantage of me...)
I still own Anquan Boldin and Reggie Wayne at WR..(+Moulds/Cotchery/Colston) losing CJ won't hurt much...
I was worried there was more to the "Foot" thing than anyone wanted to let on!
Within the hour after this story broke.. The guy wanted to cancel our deal, that had been confirmed to the league several hours before anyone had knowledge it was as serious as it is..."Broken Bone" and out for sometime...
Sux for him, but we all knew SA wasn't 100%... (And he still owns Chad Johnson too now!)
I'm just soooooooo glad I was able to get LT...
Anyone else avoid the SA debacle?
I traded him before the season for mike and tatum bell and chester taylor, and everyone thought I was nuts....look at me now! I love myself. ahh, but the bells have a bye this week and I don't know who to pick up marion barber III or michael turner, I almost said turner, but Im just not sure. ahh fantasy football, geez.

I'm not like a doubter... but a broken bone in the foot ruined Frank Thomas' reliability, and he's doing a lot less running than a RB. WHICH bone in the foot was broken probably matters a great deal, in terms of the accuracy of his projected return date, and the quality of his play after that point.
To be completely honest, some of these moves are just lucky and were kind of dumb at the time.
Passing on Alexander at 4?
SA and Chad for LT?
They are kind of dumb because honestly whoever you got at 4 had a much higher bust potential than Alexander. In the other trade you basically just traded your top 2 picks for a guy who was rated like 2 draft slots ahead of SA. I love LT and had him as my #1 all year, but I would take that trade in a second.
Congrats on getting lucky, not something to brag about though IMO.

I agree. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.
Unfortunately this year I don't seem to be either.
