I don't think it's yahoo's fault. I think it's just the way the game is being played these days. coachs put athletes on the field in certain situations and expect them to perform. Like the whole cooley H back situation last year in washington.
there are alot of tweener positions/players popping up in the NFL. not yahoo's fault for that.

Why do you think he will be the featured back this week? Everyone else seems to think Gore is good to go.

It's only a matter of time before Gore sustains a season-ending injury. Putting the guy in when he is already slightly injured is never a good thing. Sports Hernia incoming!

its only a matter of time until steve smith re injures his hammy, or pennington throws his shoulder out, or duece, cullpepper, and palmer blow their knees out, whats your point?

you could of said the same thing about mcgahee as well, as a RB its not like you can see whats coming for them, gore has showed no signs of slowing down, i have him, and im going to keep him at least until he plays oakland in a week and see how these next 2 games turn out, but i think before robinson is handed over the goal line carries, gore will go back to taking charge, if he doesnt perform then we see robinson, gore punches it in, robinson goes back to the bench

I guess Michael Robinson is a nice consolation prize if you didn't manage to grab Maurice Morris this week. Both of them are sucker picks though.

Frank Gore is going to play this week and it is not at all guaranteed that Robinson is going to see the field. Gore is a 3 down RB... Sure you can hope Robinson gets in on short yardage and goalline opportunities, but that is really his upside at this point. Marion Barber upside barring further injury to Gore. The guy has bruised ribs, not a broken bone or a torn ligament. The guy is HURT not injured. Big difference there.

And don't go comparing Robinson's value to Marion Barber. He doesn't even have a clear path to becoming the featured back if Gore was to go down. Did everybody forget about Maurice Hicks ? He is banged up at the moment, but I get the feeling that RBBC would ensue between Robinson/Hicks IF Gore is lost to a SERIOUS injury. His path to the starting position is very muddled with Hicks on the roster. I would rather have a number of backup RBs over this guy. Michael Robinson/Maurice Hicks = TJ Duckett/Ladell Betts. Take your pick.

Gore suffered a minor injury last week BTW. They had already lost Vernon Davis (carried off the field by a cart), why risk your offensive centerpiece in a blowout game? All this fragile Gore talk has NOT been substantiated on the field. The took him out because it was the smart football move, and he could have returned to the game. It made perfect sense to take Gore out last week and perserve him for the next game, and THAT is the only reason Robinson was on the field at all and has become a hot waiver option. If you looked deeper you would realize that a guy named JOHNSON is the 49er you wanted to grab this week.

Maurice Morris gets a 1 week start versus Chicago before SA is back in action. Have fun with that one.

I picked up Morris and traded him to the SA owner for K Johnson.

Frankly, if I was the SA owner I would not have made the deal since they play the Bears this week and even a healty SA would not be a good play vs that D. They have a BYe after that week so SA seems to be set up to be back in three weeks.

I'll take MeShaun and run though i did try to extract much much more.

this guy knows what he's saying...you cant live in the past, Fred Taylor is extremely healthy this year, so are lots of players who had injury concerns, and by far are bruised ribs a concern that gore will suffer a season ending injury....and regardless he's right, robinson will not turn into a frank gore clone if gore is out, hicks will take carries as well, the robinson stock that is soaring right now is due to the fact that he can be used as a WR in yahoo leagues(not sure about others) and that is the only reason id even consider taking him unless you are in 12 or deeper leagues....

Gore will still handle goal line carries next week, just monitor it, if you dont have direct tv package of all the games which i do, just use nfl.com gamecenter and you can see play by play whats going on, have an idea of whose receiving what carries and how gore is doing, if he punches it in on his first goal line try robinson was a wasted pick but a nice reach....ill have my eye on it closely seeing as how i just landed Gore, but i expect him to still be a 3 down back, and he is a better goal line runner then robinson is ill still have to say that....

But if you have gore and dont feel comfortable, NOW is the time to trade before he does lose goal line touches, shoot big and see what you get, if you cant get a top 5 back or big back i say you take your chances on him and see what you get, personally i like my chances with gore, goal line or not, he is great out the backfield and a strong runner, and bruised ribs are not a concern, his production will still be good for an every week start
