How long do you hold on?

Postby dream_017 » Thu Sep 28, 2006 3:18 pm

In dynasty leagues, how long do you hold on to players that have potential that are injured or disgruntled players?

I happen to have 2 guys that are taking up bench space but I am not sure if I should part with them. The rosters are big enough that I don't have too much of a problem, but I am also 2-1 so there is not sense of urgency to make the moves. I am withholding the names right now, because this isn't a should I drop them thread, it is a how long do you hold on to them thread. Neither player has played yet this season: 1 is out for the year, the other is a disgruntled WR

So, how long to you hold on to players with injury/holdout/disgruntled/etc in dynasty leagues?

That depends on roster size and number of teams in the league. The more players you have on rosters, the longer you have to sit on players. Less teams and/or smaller rosters allow you to dump them into a larger waiver pool.

Depends who your players are. In most cases if they are good and have a chance of playing again for you then I'd keep them.

Yeah i mean Peyton is in his 30s but i would not consider letting him go. However, there are other top guys i would drop (or Trade) without a thought due to trends, and what not.

Assuming Porter and D Davis, I doubt they will play again this year, but next year brings hope especially when Porter gets traded-

Close, it is Porter and Greg Jones. Porter I am not having a hard time holding on to. I think he can be productive and I have the room. Jones is another story, it just so happens that both are on my team and I don't think I can afford to keep both.

Again, this is not just my situation, but a guy like Jones, who had upside before the season and is out for the year, do you hold on or cut bait in a dynasty??
