Wesley Welker, Doug Gabriel, Sleepers?

Postby Mimal321 » Thu Sep 28, 2006 4:07 pm

Welker has played decent for each game, and is the leading dolphin WR in yds i believe *correct me if im wrong*. he faces houston this week. strong number 2 or 3 WR in fantasy?

Gabriel came back in the 4th quarter in the NE game last week and got about 60 yds. and a TD. topping the NE WR list that night.
is gabriel going to come back into a larger role this year? thanks.

I dont like either pick. Gabriel can be decent but he is as much as a sleeper as C. Jackson is due to Brady passing the ball around. I dont know about welker.

I don't know that Brady will have the luxury of spreading the ball around as much as he has in the past. The Pats' Offense has struggled this year (especially through the air) and I feel that's attributable to the lack of dependable targets Brady now has at his disposal. Givens and Branch are gone, Brown (although a great football player and one hell of a gamer) is getting up there, Jackson's been hurt, and Watson, for whatever reason, has been a non-factor. That leaves Gabriel.

If the Patriots are gonna get their offense on track they're going to need to get Gabriel more involved in the passing game. I think he's a big-time sleeper at this point, and I'd take him over Welker season-wise in a heartbeat.

Welker is an interesting fantasy player. With normal settings, he's not worth a roster spot. If return yards have any significant impact, he's a bonafide stud. Diddo that for Daunte Hall.

What kind of draft did you have that you need to consider these guys?

You draft TO, Plax, and Javon Walker or something? All either on suicide watch or on bye week.

in large team leagues either of the two are not bad plays, i dont know what makes you think otherwise, and honestly, sometimes you just want to be ahead of the pack on "sleepers"...I picked up gabriel as soon as he scored a TD, Jackson as well, id suggest if you have the room that you keep one or the 2 until they have a big game again and trade them when stock is high, after one week i got randy moss for chad jackson, and people were interested in gabriel as well, although i believe one of the two will be a solid starter, just dont know who he will build the best relationship with or who will seperate themselves, but keep an eye on both none the less...

I'm playing Welker in an 18 teamer and a 14 teamer... Texans give up tons of yards, so I can see Welker nabbing quite a few of those ;-D

In my ppr league I have H. Ward, and Galloway on bye so I'm giving Welker a shot this wk.
First the Shock, then the Pistons can the Lions be next?

Well maybe next yr.

PS I didn't lose a paper bag challenge but somehow as a Lion's fan it just feels right.
