At the beginning of the season, Marques Colston was listed as a TE/WR. Our league starts 3 WR and 1 TE, so someone put Marques Colston as their TE. But ESPN changed his position to WR, but it lets that manager keep Colston as their TE, so in effect his team now has 4 WR's while we are stuck with 3. Is this a bug in ESPN? Is it cheating for him to keep Colston as a TE? Our commish doesnt think so and its pissing me off, we have $800 at stake.
I dont know. I would say no. Only because when he was drafted he was both. You cant change the rules half way threw a game, and i dont see much differance here. Atleast this is my veiw though i have not put much thought into it yet.
Well for example, if he benched him for even 5 seconds i dont think ESPN would let him put him back as TE, since his position is WR and it wouldnt fit. But since he is already there, ESPN doesnt check for that, so he is keeping him as a 4th WR. It doesnt seem at all fair, to me he is just exploiting a bug in the ESPN software to get an advantage.
It's not cheating. It is a loophole in the system, but he has the right to benefit from this slight advantage. I mean, the guy was really supposed to be a TE at the beginning of the season...
Besides, he will lose that advantage once he takes Colston out of his TE spot during it's bye week. He won't be able to put him back in there.
And by the way, it's not as if Colston was the second coming of Jerry Rice or something...

Why would he take him out during his bye week? He'd be crazy to. What's a backup TE usually get 3 to 5 points? He's pretty smart not touching him so far. And if the league has made a big stink and the commish hasn't acted, I bet he keeps him there even thru the bye week.
In one of my yahoo leagues someone has colston as their TE, however yahoo still lists him as a WR, TE. It's a little shady, but I wouldn't cause a stink about it.
