Top 10 RB's ??

LT2
Larry Johnson
Shaun Alexander
Brian Westbrook
Rudi Johnson
Tatum Bell
Clinton Portis
Warrick Dunn
Tiki Barber
Stephen Jackson

Obviously alot of this revolves around injuries. Note comment: I think Alexander can still put up enough TD in the second half of the season to ranked top 3. Westbrook has been a monster and will continue if healthy. Tatum Bell might put up a monster year starting after the bye week. Redskins offense looked good with Portis back, but that might be a mirage. Dunn will win alot games for people if he can start finding the endzone...I think he will soon because Atlanta has been scoring around 50% time in redzone trying to be cute with Vick, they will get back to pounding it in before season is over. Barber will have a down year this year compared to last, but still finish top 10. Jackson is getting yards, but I dont think he is going to have many TD's.

1. LT2 - Had him here before the season and I think it's safe to say he should stay here.

2. LJ - No need to panic here. He'll get his.

3. Tiki - Every year people doubt this guy...and every year he proves them wrong.

4. Rudi - Incredibly consistent.

5. SJax - He's a monster. The TDs will follow the yards.

6. Clinton - I think he'll get healthy before too long, if he hasn't already, and when he does, he's one of the best. He'd be higher if he was 100% right now.

7. SA - I had my doubts coming into the season with Hutch leaving. I didn't expect this, but it doesn't surprise me.

8. Ronnie - The only consistent option on that Miami O. I believe Daunte will settle down before long and spread the ball to McMichael and Chambers. Ronnie will benefit when this happens.

9. FWP - He could easily move up this list, but still has to prove he can carry the load all season.

10. Westy - Could very well lead the league in yards.

10+
Dunn
James
Gore
Taylor

why does a bunch of people have Dunn in the top 10... he's has not impressed. I think Gore >> Dunn at this point.

All PPR- my trade/roster order

1)LT2 - Whole seperate tier

Westy should be #2... but, his injury concern is too real and he seems to always start off hot... we'll see if they fizzle

2) Larry Johnson - big surprise is how many catches this guy is getting + he is that offense

3) Tiki Barber - again PPR is making up for lack of TD production

4) Gore - He's earned it. Could fall further if the TD vulture threat proves true

5) Westbrook - roll the dice and hope he lasts the season... could move to top 3 if healthy

6) Rudi Johnson - no annual Chris Perry threat & putting up monster numbers

7a) Clinton Portis - too much rotation for my liking
7b) Steven Jackson - too few TDs for my liking

8) Edge - proven, and once Leinhart comes in (I'll say week 8-9)... expect more action to Edge

9) Ronnie Brown - PPR helps this otherwise dud

10) SA - I would take a gamble that he turns it around and trade any player below this spot for him

Other Decent RBs -

Tatum Bell - big potential, but still have to avoid Shannahan

Dunn - a decent top 15 back, but he was shut down vs. NO...obviously no TDs hurts as well

Chester Taylor - having a great season, could crack the top 10... but let's see how well conditioned he is come weeks 8+

10 foot pole RBs-

Titan and Jets RBs (any)
Lamont Jordan - no catches = no value
Caddy - won't last the season

He's leading the league in rushing right now (well, Willis has 311, Dunn's got 310, but you get my point). He's only caught 3 balls. I would expect that to increase as well. I don't think you can take a leading rusher out of top 10 consideration.

I agree with Omaha. He's the 2nd leading rusher in the NFL so far and only behind by 1 yard. What do you mean he hasn't impressed?

Twisted Sister wrote:4) Gore - He's earned it. Could fall further if the TD vulture threat proves true

There is no way whatsover that he has "earned" the #4 spot in anyone's RB rankings. He's not even in my top 10, because his two good games came against the #18 and #23 rushing defenses in the NFL, and both teams are giving up at least 1 TD a game on average. But when he played his first defense that was even just a little bit better (#14), he struggled mightely with only 16 rushes for 52 yds (3.2 ypc) and 6 rec for 22 yds, 0 TDs, and 1 Fumble. Not the stat line of a top 4 RB. With his problems of holding onto the football, and the liklehood that he wont get goal line carries, I don't see how you can rank him this high.

Too much rotation??? You mean the one game where Portis started, had 16 carries for 86 yds and 2 TDs, along with 2 rec for 78 yds and the Skins were killing the Texans so he didn't play as much? That's not rotation, that's what every single team in the NFL would do if they had a top back like Portis. He'll get more touches than that on a weekly basis, they just didn't need him last week to play any more.

And with Jackson, you can't judge a guy by how many TDs he gets in his first 3 games....he's been a good TD back in the past and as the offense starts to get their new offense working better, he'll get more opportunities and get some TDs. In his first 3 games last year, he had 236 total yds and 1 TD, this year in his first 3 games he has 385 yds and 0 TDs. He finished last season with 10 total TDs and almost 1400 total yds....he's looking to shatter those numbers this year. I think he has to be higher than 7.

And also, I don't see how you can leave Willie Parker both of your top 10 and your list of other "decent" RBs.

Not trying to pick on you Twisted, but these are just some of the thoughts I have on players that many others had on their lists as well. Just want to get my thoughts out there on some of these misconceptions and things about certain players.

You can't get too caught up in TDs this early in the season, especially for those who are on teams with new offenses being implemented, those things take time to really get going....and once they do, players like Portis and Jackson will really get rolling.

If that's the case, why haven't more people listed McGahee? Who actually is leading the league in rushing at this point. Touchdowns can't be the issue, neither has any yet.

I think only one person even listed Willis so far. I think arguments could be made for him being up there now, especially if the O-line play continues to be solid.
