Just imagine if UM actually lost to us either of the last two years, instead of squeaking it out on OT.

Well, you did have like a 17-point lead at what...the half?

Yeah, so...We also had lost earlier in the season to Iowa, Notre Dame, and RUTGERS. So that right there should be plenty reminder enough that we were awful to begin with.

Exactly my point.
Remember the comeback sure, but remember also ---
RUTGERS

Should have never had to be a comeback in the first place.

That guy is intense. I wish he was my local sports dude. At least he has some passion. HR Puffensfuff indeed....

If it's an UO QB in the pros, just assume they'll be a failure. I remember when everyone said Joey would break the mold and I just laughed at them.

Just stumbled on these stats of John L. Smith. Probably looking at winning out or having him and his staff canned. Can't really argue he hasn't been given the chance, but these are not stats that keep coaches employed.

Big Ten record: 11-15
Big Ten record (last 9 games): 1-8
Big Ten record (last 14 games): 3-11
Big Ten record (last 22 games): 7-15
Overall record: 21-21
Overall record (last 13 games): 4-9
Overall record (last 34 games): 14-20
Big Game record (ND,UM,OSU,PSU,Bowl): 3-12
On pace for 3 straight losing seasons (Only 3rd time in MSU history: Muddy Waters, Ralph Young)

Wins against teams with winning records...
2006: 1 (Pitt)
2005: 1 (ND)
2004: 2 (Minnesota, Wisconsin)
2003: 2 (Iowa, Minnesota)

Losses against teams with losing records...
2006: 1 (Illinois)
2005: 1 (Purdue)
2004: 2 (Rutgers, Penn State)
2003: 1 (La Tech)

Losses while leading/tied in the 4th qtr
2006: 2 (Notre Dame, Illinois)
2005: 3 (Michigan, Ohio State, Purdue)
2004: 3 (Michigan, Ohio State, Hawaii)
2003: 1 (La Tech)

First coach since Ralph Young (1920's)to lose first 4 to Michigan.
Third coach to lose 4 straight to UM (Young, Bachman).

And just to make sure they look really bad against the Buckeyes this weekend, Stanton will be without target Matt Trannon who is out for at least one game with an ankle sprain. !+)
