Branch couldn't do it, dont bet on Gabriel. maybe he could turn into a serviceable #3 WR, but a top 20 is pushing it. There are several #2 WR's I'd rather go with.

Won't happen. Their offense is still predicated on spreading the ball around. Belichik's been doin' it that way for years, I don't think he'd stop unless the Pats landed an upper tier WR.

Exactly....Gabriel isn't even close talent wise to Branch, I don't see him coming anywhere close to being in the top 20. It will be the same inconsistency from NE WRs that we all know so well.....

Don't know where he'll end up, but I DO like what I've seen since I picked him up off waivers 2 weeks ago. ;-D

I sat Branch for DG today, and watched the last 2 games. He is absolutely Brady's #1 WR RIGHT NOW, and considering the guy just got dealt there, had a hammy issue, and is still learning the system/playbook, and getting to know his QB...I very much like what I'm seeing. B-)
I hate LJ Smith!

He had a TD today. Let's not be so quick to crown him a top-20.

I agree with the OP. Gabriel is looking like a #2 fantasy WR as the only legit deep threat on the Patriot's roster. The only question for me is his health, which has been shaky the past few weeks.

Two games from Gabriel=

~6/65/1
~4/60/1

Don't ignore what is happening here. Gabriel has quietly (shhhhh) become Brady's favorite target overnight. The vaccuum has been filled people, grab up Gabriel cheap while you still can.

I really don't think Brady has a favorite target. He'll throw the ball to whoever is open on that given play. That's why I'll stay away from all NE WR's & TE's unless I'm desparate. Just too inconsistent.

Just curious, who would be WRs #17-20? Just wanna get a rough idea who to compare Gabriel to.
