Deuce hospitalized; 50/50 to play today

Deuce McAllister (RB) NO 10/5/2003
McCallister was hospitalized in Charlotte Saturday night with flu-like symptoms, John Czarnecki of FoxSports.com reports. McAllister is being considered 50/50 to play Sunday against Carolina. Be prepared to make a last minute change to your roster, and if you have a better option, you may want to seriously consider it. More information to follow when we get it.

from Yahoo:

Oct 5 Jeff Duncan, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reports New Orleans Saints RB Deuce McAllister (virus) has been battling through flu-like symptoms the last few days and was taken to a hospital Saturday, Oct. 4, for an IV and medicine. He's feeling somewhat better Sunday, Oct. 5, and is slated to start for the Saints in Week 5.

RotoWire:

Deuce McAllister (RB) NO 10/5/2003
McAllister will play Sunday, but share carries with Ki-Jana Carter, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen. McAllister was hospitalized Saturday night with flu-like symptoms; the Saints plan to give him an IV right before game-time. McAllister is still a risky play to some extent, so if you have other strong options, please consider them.

Fanball.com says he'll play, but he'll be splitting carries with Ki-Jana Carter. Especially against Carolina, he's a bad start. Should I go with Onterrio Smith? I just picked him up off FA!

I wouldn't bench Deuce for Onterrio Smith, because Smith is also splitting carries, and probably won't get game lines either. Since both backs are splitting carries, I'd go with the better back, which is Deuce

Without much thought, Hambrick and McAllister.

I'd go with Hambrick, since he will get the carries against a terrible D and W.Green.
