Commish Cheating, What to Do?

Postby ScrappyDoo » Mon Oct 09, 2006 8:02 am

Im almost positive that our commish is cheating. I was facing him this week and went to bed confident that we had it locked up. The commish had started Morency and benched Parker, as of 4 PM the lineup was locked and Morency got him .4 points.

I wake up and now Im in danger of losing because I only lead by 5 and he has Denver D and Elam against my T. Bell.

There are at least 4 people who say this is true. The co-manager of my team (We split the large buy in) was at the Pats game so he was continuously calling and asking for updates. I saw Morency was starting and figured we had it locked up but I wake up and Morency has been replaced with Parker. (We split the large buy in.)

Now this is a $200 buy in league with $1700 to the 1st place finisher.

Is there any way to find out if he indeed did change roster positions mid-day by emailing Yahoo. The changes should appear on the league page but they dont. I did the same thing in my other league by swapping two players who received 0's and it did not say I made a change on the league page.

Someone help me out here. Thanks

Would Yahoo be able to give me 100% evidence that he cheated or would we have to get him to admit he did.

it is entirely possible...I just editted my roster today for this week and it simply updated my score and put the new guys in without any indication to anyone/anywhere I made a roster change. I dont know how yahoo will be able to help you out though.

Maybe they would be able to tell me that he made a roster change after the position was locked.

They should note the changes a commish makes to the rosters. Its obvious how easy it is to abuse.

Even if I dont get word from yahoo I could try and bluff and use it as leverage. "Well I emailed Yahoo and they told me they would respond within the day and let me know if any roster moves were made after the 1:00 games were finished." See if we can get him to admit it.

I doubt he would admit that he made a move if it was to his advantage.

Good luck though.. :-°

He just switched it back and posted on the league home page that he was just "f**king with you guys to get a rise out of you little bi*ches."

sounds a little fishy to me, what if we didnt notice the change. :-/

anyone got any suggestions as to what we should do. There are two commishs, the one who is listed as the commish on yahoo isnt the one who made the shady moves. He just knows his account info.

Have each owner post their line-ups before 1PM on the message board. Those later games too. Unless a player is questionable, you should know with about 90% accuracy who you would start.

uness the comish can edit the posts too. however, it would state that they were updated but there is still room for shadyness. the only thing that might be conclusive is a screen shot at the time when rosters are due. that way you can post of picture of his lineups.

further, i think in yahoo it would say when a manager was last active, either by picking up dropping players or by altering lineups. you can see that under the manager link near the top.

Clearly you get out of this league at the end of the year and never play with this guy again.

What the heck are you doing wagering that kind of money on something you have no control over? The two money leagues I'm in cost me a grand total of $60, and I'm regretting the $40 one because it's too much! That's a lot of cash to wager on a game where your stud could get injured in week one and you're screwed with a capital S.

Well this is a league with my friend and his older brothers friends. I know 80% of the people in the league and my good friend is one of the commishes.

I entered the league because I want to win some money. Ive been pretty successful in fantasy football and I thought it would be a good investment.

So far Im 4-1 and am in second by just a few points.

We are voting to have to other commish, the shady one, removed from the position and replaced with another manager.

he says its a joke and i dont believe him. The worst part is he has had 2 close wins this year by 5 and by 1.5 and there is no way to prove that he didnt tweak his roster on those dates too.

And in case your wondering, if a commish changes rosters it is not shown on the transactions log. Im pretty sure it used to a few years ago. It would say. Willie Parker - Bench changed to Willie Parker - RB. But maybe Im wrong.
