Weekly Rankings: A Cafe Big Board?

Postby skinsfan » Mon Oct 09, 2006 10:24 am

Can we possibly have a weekly or biweekly player ranking? Something like Yahoo's big board, but less biased?

I'd be willing to participate in one if anyone else is interested.

Maybe I am just slow....but what do you mean. Player rankings by week. kinda like the start sit column was this week.

Not for the weekly starts, but overall value projected for current performance and factoring in "future returns", as Funston would say. Basically a weekly cheat sheet. It can be separated by position, or be one massive 100+ player ranking that mixes all positions. I prefer the Cafe's standard position-by-position approach.

I think what he means is kinnda like a cheat sheet. Shuan Alexander was in the top 3 but at this point he may be down a bit, and McNabb was maybe the #10 QB but he is in the top 3 at this point. Atleast thats what i am getting

great idea... to give us all a sense of perceived trade value. As a commish, this would help me as well (to shut the whiners up - "unfair trade, unfair!!").

I think this should be comprised of the composite ranking of 6-10 owners, all should be on the "Head Coach" level to give the rankings some level of legitimacy.

This should be to rank the top players, not all the players who may be on somebody's roster.

I say we gear this to a 12-team league, for who we think deserves a starting job, then ranked:
12 QB
24 RB
36 WR
12 TE
12 K
12 D
And, maybe a top-10 "Cream of the Crop" ranking for all positions combined, based on value, not fantasy points (otherwise it's be all QBs).

Assume 10 rushing/receiving yards = 1pt, 20 passing yards = 1pt

The TD totals really don't matter since we'd be ranking within the positions, but I guess if we did the composite section we should have 4pt per pass TD and 6 for all others.
