Tough 5 Team Parlay

Postby Rizzo » Mon Oct 09, 2006 3:53 pm

I threw down a 5 team parlay for $10 this week on Sports.com. Here were my picks:

1) Tennessee (+18.5) vs. Indianapolis
2) Buffalo at Chicago (-10)
3) New York Jets at Jacksonville - Over 38
4) Saint Louis (-3) at Green Bay
5) Kansas City (-3.5) at Arizona

Payout was $255. I lost because the Rams pushed and the Chiefs missed covering by 1 point.

Yo Rizzo! :-)

That's cool you wager at Sports.com, that's my main sportsbook too.

Tough break on your parlay, but going 3-1-1 is quite impressive. ;-D

Tough break indeed; KC killed me too last week.

Aren't parlays great? Sure they're really hard to win, but the lure of easy money and a big payout is too much to resist.

I like to bet a cross-sports parlay in football. There are usually only 1-3 NFL games each week that I'm supremely confident about. So I bet mostly on college games. Since there's more college games played each week that means more lines to pick and choose from.

Here's my card for this weekend a 4 team and a 12 team parlay. $5 on each (big money!) :-]

4 Team
California -8.5
Purdue -7
Hawaii -4
Philadelphia Eagles -3

Pays out around $50. I really like my chances on this one...... We'll see.

12 Team
Cal -8.5
Purdue -7
Hawaii -4
PHI -3
Pitt Panthers -10.5
Wisconsin -8
NC State -3
Missouri -2
Maryland -3
Washington Huskies -9.5
Michigan -6
Arizona Wildcats -3.5

Pays around 10K.... but I won't win.

Who else here parlays a lot and what kind of success have you had?

I throw some NFL parlays around each week. Week 2 I was one game away from hitting $1000 bet, and Week 3 was the exact same story. Here's what I have for this week...

Best shot: Pays $2042 on a $10 bet.

StL to Win
Hou +13.5
KC +6.5
Ten/Was Over 38.5
Sea/StL Under 44.5
SD/SF Under 42
Mia/NyJ Over 36
Chi/Ari Over 39.5

My friend's lucky guess of the week: $2345 on a $5 bet.

StL to Win
NyG to Win
KC to Win
Cin -5
Phi -3.5
NyJ -1
Buf/Det Over 40.5
Oak/Den Over 35.5

And then the jackpot: $22,648 on a $5 bet.

Ten, Hou, Det, StL, KC to win
Cin -5
Atl -3
NyJ -1

They won't happen, but it's fun to try! ;-D

Anything more than a two team parlay is just dumb. The biggest parlay I've ever hit was a four team basketball one. A $30 bet paid about $300 on that one.

I try to stay away from parlays, now teasers is another story. I'm a HUGE fan of teasers. Give me some extra points!! }:-)

Well, yeah.

I use teasers, straight bets, or two-three team parlays to win the money (and to cover my jackpot parlays). These big parlays are the most fun though, especially when everything is lining up right at about 2:30 CST with a half-hour left in all the early games. Then, inevitably, Kitna throws the ball to a defensive lineman or Warner fumbles a snap in FG range. Isn't this game great?
