Buy Low WR's

Postby Hanz » Wed Oct 11, 2006 8:20 pm

With the trade deadline nearing in most leagues, and the sudden emergence of guys like Berrian, Jennings, Colston, etc.; which WR(s) should we be targetting? Who can bounce back and perform?

Marvin Harrison
Larry Fitzgerald
Plaxico Burress
Reggie Wayne
Roy Williams
Chris Chambers
Chad Johnson
Hines Ward
T.J. Houshmandzadeh
Donte Stallworth

Two guys off the top of my head are TO and CJ. If you can take the risk of taking on TO then he should bounce back.

I think you might be also able to get S.Smith cheaper than normal right now since he hasn't really exploded yet since returning from his injury.

I agree with this guy...

But seriously, I like Harrison and Wayne as nice buy lows. Steve Smith and CJ could probably be had for below market value.

Fitzgerald could probably be snatched quite cheaply.

Ive extended a Gabriel for Fitz offer in my 16 team money league, just to see what happens. In such a large league, the WW looks like the Mojavi desert.

CJ is a WR I'd definately consider a "Buy Low" right now. You would think his numbers have to improve as the season goes on.

I dont think Steve Smith is a buy low candidate personally if it wouldnt have been for a drop in the endzone last week he would have put up 10-15 points again. He is only going up and there is almost no way i would trade him straight up for another receiver IMO

Once Harrington becomes comfortable in the Miami O he will target Chambers a lot.

Chambers already has 49 targets to date, which is the fourth highest in the NFL with respect to WRs. Last week with Harrington playing, Chambers had 10 passes thrown his way. How is Harrington going to target Chambers 'a lot' when he's already getting the ball thrown his way? Your post makes it sound like Chambers will see an increase in targets.

Moss cant get any worse, so if you can get him cheap, go right ahead. If he breaks out? Awesome for you. You got him cheap, if not no big deal. I got him for my RB5, Addai.
