Comments/Advice with Matt Jones & Reggie

Postby LS2throwed » Thu Oct 12, 2006 3:05 pm

Im an owner of both wr's aquired for trade...I traded Chambers for Reggie and got matt jones dirt cheap with an owner tired of the non production....

my question is what to do with both of them, i really dont like the idea of having two wr's from the same team, id rather not go crazy when i started reggie and matt scored and vice versa, and due to byes id have to start both vs HOU after this week....

I dont know if i should trade Reggie now while his stock is still high(tied for league lead in td receptions) and try to get a big time wr, especially if matt coming back cuts into his production, but he may still stay the main target he is and continue to tear it up....

On the other hand its nearly impossible to trade matt jones in my league, at least not for what his value should be, and i would like to sit him until after his bye and let him get healthy to see where he stands and maybe i can get his full value after he puts up a good game, but if he ends up being the better #1 when healthy, it would be smarter to trade reggie now, since id get more now if he goes back to just a #2....

im stuck on who to keep, who to trade, or if i should keep both on the team and start both of them together on weak matchups(texans)

When both were healthy they were seeing an equal amount of passes each game. Reggie has stepped up and has been the man with Matt Jones injured. Going forward I think Reggie is going to be the man. Like you said in your post if you want to trade Matt Jones you are not going to get fair value. I think you have to sit on him until he healthy and puts together a good game or two to increase that value.
Thanks to Metroid for the sig!

I'd trade Reggie. Matt is gonna be the man when he's healthy. He is big and is Leftwich's main red zone target. I'd sell high on Reggie.

Start Reggie all year long until he stops producing.

Sit Matt Jones all year long until he starts producing.

Leftwich has been playing very well, and the Jag's schedule is very soft in the second half. As a Matt Jones owner in almost every redraft league, I'm dissappointed in myself for not jumping on acquiring Reggie Williams earlier. I was only able to acquire him in about half my leagues.. Who cares if you own every single WR on a team, as long as you got one that is producing.
