The problem is that I can make my own start/sit, and draft/trade decisions for myself, unless there's some kind of twist to it - like a league-specific rule or something. And when I ask the question (of course explaining the special rules and the issues at hand) I get 10 one-word responses that tell me nothing except that the people who responded didn't pay attention to the special rules.
At that point, I just PM some of the people whose opinions I respect.
All of that being said, it's obvious that a lot of people like to use the advice forums, and I am in no way advocating that we change them.
I agree and do the same Very disappointed when you take the time to spell out the twist and then people disregard it
In general in life, I like to get input from people whom I respect, and whose knowledge has some bearing on my situation, and then ignore them all and do the first thing that came to my mind.
I mean how the hell do people think they are helping you. You wont know till the game is over. it's overly pretentious.
I will offer suggestions in the start sit. but rarely/never seek advice from those who are asking for it. after all if they are asking for advice they don't know jack sheet, and can't manage their own team effectively.
but I will say that if you are new or in reasonable bind with your roster or a trade quandry, this forum is a most excellent resource

Its not that I want someone else making my decisions, but the more opinions you get on something, the more information you have to make your own opinion. Maybe someone will know something that you dont about the opposing team, who knows.
Adding the Whir is more of a courtesy thing, saying that not only are you asking for advice, but you are also willing to return the favor.

I know, maybe just another opinion, but I really don't care. I can make my own decisions and if you can't I really don't care what you have to say.
Maybe you garner 10 opinions on your topic. Usually 1-2 make real sense and can change your mind, and you never know the source of these. Also, by having someone post on yours, it moves it up to the top, increasing its chance of getting any replies.

Maybe you can replace the H with an A for Answer. Ex. WAIR
I also agree that people from different cities know more about their local teams, so it does help.
