Standard Scoring ...

Postby TFM » Tue Oct 07, 2003 2:24 am

I'm in a 12 team yahoo league. In my roster, i put down that we use standard scoring. I guess i've always just assumed it's standard, but perhaps it's not normal. Let me know if this is standard or not.

Start: 1 QB, 2 WR, 2 RB, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 Def
Passing: 1 pt / 25 yrds passing, 6 pts / TD, 2 pts / 2 pt conv
Receiving: 1 pt / 10 yrds, 6 pts / TD, 2 pts / 2 pt conv
Rushing: 1 pt / 10 yrds, 6 pts / TD, 2 pts / 2 pt conv
K: 1 pt / PAT, 3 pts / FG
Def: 1 pt / sack, 2 pts / int, 2 pts / fumble rec, 6 pts / TD, 2 pts / safety, 6 pts / TD on kick return

Any fumble of interception is also -2 pts.

I think i covered all basis, might have left something out. But i'm just curious if this is standard

Thanks

2 Point Conversions (2)
Fumbles Lost (-2)

Kicking:
Field Goals 0-19 Yards (3)
Field Goals 20-29 Yards (3)
Field Goals 30-39 Yards (3)
Field Goals 40-49 Yards (4)
Field Goals 50+ Yards (5)
Point After Attempt Made (1)

Defense:
0 Pts Allowed (10)
1-6 Pts Allowed (7)
7-13 Pts Allowed (4)
14-20 Pts Allowed (1)
21-27 Pts Allowed (0)
28-34 Pts Allowed (-1)
35+ Pts Allowed (-4)

I have learned that my scoring is very different. This is some of it:
Pass. TD=4
Rsh TD=6
Rec. TD=6
10 rsh yds=1
10 rec yds=1
20 pass. yds=1
turnover=-2
2-point conv.=2
that is the jist of it, I could list the FGs and the D.

That's pretty common. I have a league w/ co-workers in which I am the Commish. I give 5 for pass TD, 0.5 for receptions, etc. I like to tweak it a bit. And I give the D a bigger bonus for shutouts. Also, I penalize Kickers for missing short field goals and PATs.
Yahoo standard scoring is a bit stodgy. And I think fractional points should count. I hate seeing Moulds get 99 yds and it only being worth 4 pts.
