If the Draft Were Held Today...

Postby DocSlinky » Fri Oct 13, 2006 2:31 pm

Maybe I'm bored. Maybe it's a beautiful October Friday and I'd rather be anywhere but work. But my mind was wandering, and I was just wondering:

If the fantasy draft were today, knowing what we know (or think we know) now, I'd imagine some cheatsheets would be far different than back in August! How would rank the top 10 QB's, RB's, and WR's for a draft today?

I'll just give you a straight top-12:

1) McNabb
2) LJohnson
3) Jackson
4) Tomlinson
5) Portis
6) RJohnson
7) Gore
8) RBrown
9) McAllister
10) CTaylor
11) Maroney
12) Parker

I normally don't take QBs high (Grossman and others are just a few points behind Manning this season) but McNabb is having the greatest QB season ever through week 5 and has scored 50% more points in my league than the next-highest player.

I still have faith in Brown and he gets his scores so he sticks around. WRs have been fairly unproductive this season (no runaway #1 WRs so far) so I'd put Holt as an early second-rounder.

No Westy, but Gore? SJax ahead of LT2? Would you really take Duece McAllister #9 in a draft today? I dont think I could bring myself to that even though he has started off nice.

So gore is having a monster year but only cracks one list? I'm an Sjax owner and expect bigger numbers out of Gore weeke to week. I think he's top 5.

Also, no way Manning is better than Mcnabb at this point. Purely based on the offensive concept of each respective team. Mcnabb has combined for 14 tds and one Int. Is manning's name and skin color still going to keep him at the top of the list? (yes feel free to bash on that one)

I agree with keeping westy out. To the same extent I'd keep heap out. I think their shoudl be a punishment for having a little red D or Q next to your name every week. Though, it's true, Heap hasn't missed a game as of yet.

The Wr's are the most confusing, I think by the end of the year, you will see people's original choices shake out as the best. Everyone except Chambers that is. Miami is a nightmare.
