Here is just a quick list of the worst 13 defenses against the run so far this year. The 13 defenses are giving up on average more than 120 yards per game on the ground.

Any surprise teams you didn't expect to see on this list???

cinci, tampa, carolina, and indy are surprises to me. the rest are pretty poor defensive teams. and not usually contenders anyway.

carolina and tampa defintely. they both were on the other side of 100 last year. giving up 91.6 and 94.7/pg respectively.

Carolina and Tampa are actually doing a much better job of late. Remember Atlanta gashed them for 254 and 306 the first and second game of the season. That has a way of really screwing up your bell curve.

Cinci is no surprise to me. Their run defense has always been vulnerable. In fact, their whole defense is a bit iffy IMO. It's just all the interceptions they get that makes people think that Cinci has a good defense. But I suppose rolling through the NFC North last season helped a lot with that. I think they picked off at least 5 from each NFCN team last season.

Indy's inability to stop the run after what they did last season was a bit surprising. Makes you wonder if what they did last year was a fluke or if injuries have hurt them that badly.

Carolina and Tampa being on that list has hurt a bunch of fantasy owners in the early weeks. I used to have Carolina and I regretted drafting them after they played Atlanta. Good thing I picked up SD after week 1.

Carolina is an obvious surprise as they were most people's 2nd ranked D. Tampa has been absolutely awful this year and I feel bad for anyone who drafted them :,-(
