I think teams get overly timid at tampa's namesake. They have a very aggressive defense and a very good front four. Because of this, I see teams that usually throw downfield come out and throw screen passes and short crossing routes instead of looking downfield.
After a bevy of screens and short crossing routes had NO succuess whatsoever, the Colts started moving when they got behind and HAD to look downfield.
Screen and crossing routes don't work on Tampa's aggressive defense, yet everyone's so scared of their namesake that they don't even try throwing downfield. Has anyone EVER seen a screen or short crossing route work on tampa?
