If he continues to play the way he has played thus far, and the Bears go 12-4 or 13-3, you don't think that he should at least be considered for MVP? Especially as anemic as the Bear's O was last year and he was the only major change in the O from last year to this year?
no im saying as a bears fan it's amazing what type of season rex is having. when the year started there was lots of belief that griese would be qb by week 3, now rex is a legitimate mvp candidate. it's freaking awsome.
Everything was on point, but I think the most important thing you said was "week 6 discussions are a bit much." I know it's fun to talk about it because we are obsessed with this silly game, but the list of potential winners is going to be long right now, and with 11 weeks of play left to go, you have to base your MVP picks on what you think these guys will do over the rest of the season - not the first 5-6 games.
I think this is REAL football MVP not FF MVP... LT had a great game, but I think that team will struggle to get into the playoffs.
Was there ever an MVP from a team that didn't make the playoffs? I can't recall one.
Usually MVPs help their teams DOMINATE, not just go 9-7 or 10-6.
I could be wrong... can some trivia folks help?
The Chargers are the best team in the AFC right now (I actually think they look better than the Colts). While LT doesnt deserve to be in MVP contention, I am not sure why you are saying the Chargers arent in playoff contention. Just cause the Chargers arent on ESPN all day like your NFC East, it doesnt mean they arent any good.
why shouldnt there still be grossman supporters out there? so what he had a bad game. last night was only the guys 14th start in the NFL, his maturation is still leaps and bounds ahead of where everyone thought it would be.

If the season trends continue, Carolina will be the front-runner in the NFC (along with the Bears) that many thought they would. And that success will be credited largely to Steve Smith's return -- (0-2) before he played.
That and, even against one of the top defenses: 189 and TD, when everyone knows that Jake D is going to force him the ball.
I'd also consider C. Portis as MVP, but the Redskins just look too Jeckle/Hyde for the team to draw MVP attention to one of its players.
Wide receivers almost never win an MVP unless they have unbelievably good stats or they have many clearly game-winngin catches. I don't even think Harrison got the award when he absolutely blew the receptions record out of the water a few years ago.
