This kid is electrifying and does a lot with whatever carries he gets. There is talk about what may happen when Martin and co. come back, but the Jets are idiots if they don't give this kid at least 75% of their carries.
He could have easily had another TD. The one barlow took from him. I think he HAS to be the starter after another awesome week, however barlow will still get a few looks.
Yeh, Washington's 20/129 = 6.5 yds/carry is pretty decent against Barlow's 12/49 and 4.1 yds/carry. Detroit is normally pretty good against the run but remember they were playing today without DT's Shaun Rogers and Shaun Cody and Rogers is their big run stuffer. That said, I still like Washington the rest of the year.

Your logic confuses me. If hes doing so well splitting carries why max him out on all carries? Why not use him and Martin when he is back as Thunder + Lighting Combo? I like Washington, But I don't think he will do well as a sole featured back.
Washington is running well so far but I need to see more especially against a good defense. He had 100 yards against the Jags but most of it came in garbage time and against the Lions without 2 of there best defensive lineman.
From watching Washington, he seems to be quite electrifying, and appears to be the type of guy who could be a starter in the NFL. I like having Barlow in there to spell him, but I do think we should try and get Washington 25 carries a game now, and see how he does. I think it is possible that Washington could be the man from now on for us, and we won't have to spend a first rounder on a RB next year, instead focusing our 3 picks in the first 2 rounds on OL, NT, and OLB.

I agree with you 100%. I want to see what Leon can do while getting 25+ carries. The Jets do have an extremely upcoming schedule besides N.E + Chicago.
I would love to see what he would do with 20 carries each week from here on out. He looks pretty good and the O-line should only get better as they play together. The Jets really need to find out if he can do the job for them.
I think, therefore I am. I think fantasy, therefore I am unreal?

I've been touting him on here to be the full time back and have been puzzled why he hasn't been all along. Every time he touches the ball, he's capable of taking it the distance. The similarities between him and Dunn are eerie.
I wonder what happens when Cedric Houston and/or Curtis Martin come back. Leon looks good, but it doesn't seem like New York is willing to commit to any one feature RB for longer than 3 quarters or so.
