He had a monster game today (albeit, one run was for a 95 yard TD, but he was good enough to be able to break it) and seems to be well used in the passing game. He's now had several 100 yard rushing games, has a great offensive line and a coach who is patient with the run game and is committed to Taylor as "the guy".
Does anyone else see him as a top ten back to this point of the season, in a year where guys like Edge and Jordan were expected to do better and guys like Alexander and Davis fell to injuries?
I've liked him since the pre-season (although I am a Vikes fan).
He has a monster and expensive line and, as you mentioned, a coach commited to the run and the designation of, "The Man." Is he a top ten back? Maybe. Probably a stretch. But he is going to be a productive and relatively consistent back with complete job security as long as he stays healthy. Which I guess is a good enough categorization for me.
I'd put him in the top 10. He will always get his touches and has produced thus far in the season (except for the Buffalo game). Add in the few passes they throw to him a game, and you have an almost guarunteed 100 yards.
Also, he should stay strong throughout the season with fresh legs because he hasn't had to carry the load in his previous seasons with the Ravens.

You want to tell me which one of these names is not then?

Tiki
Ronnie Brown
Kevin Jones
Julius Jones
McGahee
Before his burst today, he was 19th in scoring in my (mostly) normal scoring main league. Granted, you have some people who haven't had their byes yet and what not, but if he's "easily" in the top 10 then you'd have to put him over everyone under Tiki. Which I would say they are names that he's around, but I wouldn't say that he easily surpasses.
But my whole point was more along the lines of, Top 10, Top 12, Top 15. Who cares. He's good and in a good system. He's not going to crack the top tier or two of RBs but he'll still be really good. What more do you need?

I think he's definitely better than Ronnie Brown, Julius Jones, and Willis McGahee. He's pretty much there with Kevin Jones and Willie Parker as well IMO.
Ronnie Brown 0no o line, and a 60 pass day from the offense)
Kevin Jones (3 OL injured, and play from behind alot0
Julius Jones ( going to start losing touches to THE BARBER)
McGahee (Doesnt get in the end zone, and O Line is weak)
Chester Taylor may play behind the best O Line in the NFL, and will always get his touches
QB- Carson Palmer, RB - Ronnie Brown, Frank Gore, jERIOUS nORWOOD, Kevin Jones WR - Anquan, Andre Johnson, Lavernus Coles, Brandon Marshal, Arnaz Battle TE - Chris Cooley K - Stephen Gotowski Def - Jax and Tampa
Chester Taylor IS a top 10 back. And I've been saying he will be since Pre-pre Season. He runs behind one of the, IF not THE best O-line, He's fresh, his first season as a full time starter. His coach is commited to the run. The passing game isnt too effective, but effective enough to keep the D semi-honest.
Edit:
And what I think top 19 will be by the end of the season?

I like this one with the exception of ronnie brown. Assuming all the guys above stay healthy. I think the tenth spot will be a wildcard. Gore would have easily been there had he not lost it on the GL.
