I dont think Urlacher is the Best LB, and didn't think before he was either. All your biased posts are clouding my vision.

Who cares? The NFL is ridiculous. All that matters is how big, strong, and fast someone is, but when somebody takes measures to become bigger, stronger, and faster they suspend them. Players should be allowed to take whatever they want.

Until their heart explodes? That crap is dangerous. Why don't you go take that stuff and watch your testicles shrink and your boobs get bigger. :-t

So adults shouldn't be allowed to make decisions regarding their own safety? Many people, not just athletes, would take a significant risk to their future health to achieve success and fame in their current profession, not to mention millions of dollars.

That was a truly ignorant statement. However, I would expect as much considering the way the government and media villify steroid use.

Please keep in mind that anabolic steroids have many approved legitimate uses including treating testicular disorders, treating breast cancer in women, promoting weight gain for AIDS wasting syndrome, treating severe anemia, treating osteoporosis, etc.

You think they would be approved for all those medicinal purposes if they really were as dangerous as you say?

Heart explodes? ROFL.

Yes.

When used for medicinal purposes, steriods are carefully controlled and it's usually on a very temporary basis. Do you think stupid athletes who've gotten free passes through high school and college, sitting in the back of the locker room popping pills or injecting themselves knows how much to give themselves? That would be a truely "ignorant" statement.

Steroids mess up your liver worse than alcohol. It screws with male and female reproductive system. Steroids causes cholesterol to raise in the body, which leads to Cardiovascular deseases including stroke and yes, the heart exploding...meaning a heart attack. Not to mention the psychological effects it has on people including unstable emotions and depression.

There's a huge difference in medicinal steroids and athletes using it to extremes to get bigger, stronger, and faster. So, when you feel like calling somebody's statement "ignorant", do a little research of your own so your own statement doesn't sound ignorant.

Can you provide any documented studies that show your statements are true???

If abused like most things in this world steroids are bad for you.

Apparently not.

This is a sad story if you asked me.

They should take away his Defensive ROY award and give it to Lofa, or Thurman.

They most likely don't have any proof that he was using them last year, so somehow I don't see that happening.

This sucks. :-t

Yeah, I don't see it happening either, but I agree, this sucks.

Merriman was gonna be a guy who would lead the league and might even because the best player in the league on D one day. Now, there is going to be a cloud over him his entire career.

Sad story... :-/

Cloud over him over his entire career? I doubt that. Ray Lewis is a murderer and there is no cloud over his career is there? Maybe a cloud over this year, but in today's media, we'll forget about this story as soon as next year because some new story will come along and we'll forget that Merriman is an idiot.

Ray Lewis is a murderer?? He definitely wasn't convicted of murder... Now whether you think he may have killed the dude or not is speculation...

There's documented studies that prove and disprove it. Just like there are documented studies the prove and disprove the fact that steroids are even effective in enhancing your physical performance. Why risk heart desease, bowel desease, physicological problems, liver desease and growing breasts and underdeveloped penis for something that may or may not improve your performance?

All the medical disagreements aside, Merriman cheated plain and simple. Whatever the effects and side effects of steroids, it is banned and he cheated and I have absolutely no respect for him now.
