It's a big gala event they hold every season. Usually only a handful of the best players are invited to attend. All the team's and league's bigwigs are there, and there is a massive amount of TV coverage.
Here are some highlights from the last few Super Bowls:
"With the second overall pick the Lions take Charles Rogers"
"With the third overall pick the Lions take Joey Harrington"
"With the tenth overall pick the Lions take Mike Williams"
Good stuff, this Lions' Super Bowl
The biggest problem with this sorry franchise is that if you ask each member of the front office to point to where they are heading, they all point a different direction. The FO is embarrassingly clueless, led by their firgurehead Matt "I'll hire any coach who's name starts with M" Millen.
The only hope for fans is a lighting strike like Barry Sanders. And that will only make the team competitive and entertaining as they will surely have a boob like Wayne-o Fontes coaching the team to underperform it's talent.
Lions fans are hopeless dreamers. There is no other way to explain why people shell out perfectly good money to watch the biggest laughing-stock in professional sports.
