I think those kind of phenomen are created by teams built around one superstar with no depth of talent and not bench depth. So anytime a bye week comes, an injury hits or unexpected poor performance they have a bad week.
I guess I can concede that it is possible for someone to be the 2nd highest scoring team every single week....even though that seems almost mathmatically impossible. But any neglible probability times MILLIONS of games and leagues, does occur in reality. But this sounds more like a fish story to me.
Whatever you say Boss.
It happened to me. It was real.

I am also wondering how in a 12 team league you can have 11 different weekly winners and the highest scoring team not be one. I am suspecting that is more plausable in a 6 team or a really deep 20 team league or something like that where either every team is really stacked or every team is weak and opens the door for these kind of wacko things.
One more time since you seem to be slooooooooow
10 team league
I lost to the team(that would be 9 different teams, 1 of the teams 2x) that had the most points for the week. In these weeks I was either the 2nd highest scorer or the 3rd highest scorer, whatever.
I also won one game, and lost 2 more where I didn't lose to the guy with the most points
OK
Now add that up, that makes me 1-12
Now, most of the weeks, I was either the second highest scorer or top 3 or 4. So over the season my consistant high scoring kept me at the top of the overall point scoring lead, but it didn't help me win any games
Now do you understand?

I have been cursed in one league this season. I am in 2nd to last place in a 10 team league with a 2-5 record. I have the 2nd highest point total. The league has an odd scoring format; 6/rush or rec TD with a bonus 6 at 100 yds. 3 for passing TD with a 6 point bonus at 300yds. My scores have been amazingly consistant; 39, 39, 37,60, 49,33,37. The average points scored each week per team is 37 points, so I have only been below the average 1 week out of 7. The games I lost were to the the person with the 2nd, 4th, 1st, 6th and 3rd most points. Most telling is that if I had played every team, each week, my record would have been 42-21. This would be the 2nd best record and the next closest guy would be 35-28. Any way you look at it it is just bad luck. I am playing against the wrong people at the wrong time. C'est la vie.
In my other money league I am 7-0 with the highest point total, so it's not all bad......................
This happens every year in numerous leagues where a team that has the most points doesn't make the playoffs due to unlucky weekly matchups. In one of my leagues I lost by 7 last week to the only team that could've beaten me. I would've blown out every other team in the league that week but I got the unlucky matchup. It sucks when it happens and sucks worse when the team with the most points misses the playoffs because you know that you have the best team but just got unlucky matchups all year.
Dang, I posted a new thread about the same thing, didn't realize this was already made, and its exactly how I am lol. 2-5 and sitting 10th in a 12 man league and have the 3rd most score points, and lose because their guys outperform their average by 20 lol it sucks. On the other hand in a winner league I got a below average team in my view and sitting 1st place at 7-0 have no idea but it happens like hines ward outing against me
gablefan wrote:That is why we play two games each week. This past week 3 guys scored over 100 points, I had 102 , but the guy i played had 137. It sucked to score the third highest, but at least I still won one game....
This sounds like a very interesting league, having a team on 4 different sites i imagine thats its a off-line. True? Is it a money league also?
No it's online on CBS, and yes it is a money league, pretty big money to me....
