First NFL game moved under flexible scheduling format

Fox must be thrilled with the flex schedule.

Every week, FOX and CBS gets to protect one game that prevents NBC from stealing a game. That week, FOX chose the Saints game.

They don't get to protect one game each week. There is like 5 games for the last 7 weeks. And they have to protect their games way more in advance than NBC gets to pick the game they want. I'm not sure about all the details but I remember reading an article and it was way in NBC's favour.

I wonder if MNF would have tanked so bad on ABC had this been in effect last year.

I remember some really bad games on national TV last year, especially towards the end of the season.

Yeah but its much easier to move a game back 6 hours, rather than 30 hours.

As a Bears fan living on the East Coast surrounded by Giants, Jets, and Pats fans that isn't able to watch much of the early games on Sunday...I am THRILLED of this change.

I know some people now cannot go to the game, while others are able to go so I don't the switch will create too many problems for fans. It's also better viewing across the board for NFL fans, I like this flex schedule so far.
