Settle this important arguement. (WR rankings)

Postby Favre.com » Tue Oct 24, 2006 9:19 pm

I am a huge Reggie Brown supporter and I have a huge arguement with a friend about the value of him. He gives brown no respect and says there are mediocre receivers better then Brown. Rank the following WR and settle the arguement:

Reggie Brown
Donald Driver
Terry Glenn
Joey Galloway
Laverneus Coles
Lee Evans
Houshmandezah

Settle it for Christ sake. Appreciate it.

Housh
Evans
Coles
Glenn
Brown
Driver
Galloway

-I like Brown too, but you listed some pretty good wideouts that have been in the league for awhile and established themselves. Brown is new on the scene. He has developed into a good wideout. If he can improve his hands, he can move up on this list.

The only reason Brown has been putting up good numbers is because he is McNabb's ONLY reliable WR. When Stallworth comes back, Brown's catches and TD's will go down. He'll still put up numbers because of the Eagles offense, but he will be no better than a 3rd WR.

I aaume you mean rank them in FF value. Housh is having a great year. If any freakin' WR in GB can stay healthy, they're money, especially ol' Driver. Glenn, a mediocre #1 in his day, has found new life as a #2, and is mopping up TO's slop. Coles has been hooking up with Chad, who is putting up good numbers after two surgeries. Brown is good, but McNabb has so many targets- hard to see Brown in the picture much as Donte gets healthy. Evans is a good WR with no one to throw him the ball. Ditto with Joey.

Argument.

Brown is bottom 3 from that list.

I agree with you Brown is underrated. Given McNabb is on pace for > 4500 yds and 40 tds, he deserves his due even if Stallworth's return this week hurts him. Dude is the #2 WR right now in ESPN leagues.

I would still take 3 of the guys listed over him. Glenn needs Bledsoe to be top 20. Galloway and Evans are too easily taken out of the game. But the other 3 are indisputable #1s on solid passing teams.

I'd go with this one. I have Brown/Coles at a tie, and Glenn's value has obviously dropped while the Cowboys get their new QB up and running.

Interesting so far, just to note the only receiver I take over Brown on that list is Houshmandezah. Reggie is the clear big play target even with Stallworth back, McNabb even stated that himself.
