It's about 40 minutes drive north of Montreal, between St Jerome and St Hippolyte. Lots of lakes in that area and it's pretty popular cottage country.

I am participating on a team that will be fishing for 24 hours straight in September, 7pm September 9th to 7pm on the 10th. This is put on by Recycled Fish and the event is the 24 Hour Fish-A-Thon.

TEAM NEFGA
Josh Milczski, Alex Gonzales, Brian Prismantas

This is one of Recycled Fish's biggest fundraisers every year, where teams raise money for a cause(s) to help bring awareness to the issues facing our aquatic resources and our fisheries. Our focus this year is encouraging anglers to use barbless hooks if they're intending to release their catch, keep our shorelines clear of trash, and promote the use of non-powered fishing vessels. Please take the time to look at our page here and if you like what you see, click the donate button near the bottom. Every dollar counts, no amount is too small and would be appreciated immensely.

Took my son to a pond to have him help me catch and remove stunted crappie. Whilst fishing for small crappie using a ultralight tackle, he caught a very nice smallmouth. He was freaking out.

Fish are biting, must be spring :-) I caught half a dozen or so largemouth in the pond this afternoon. Great day to be outside, getting some sun and fresh air. And listening to all the houses going crazy while tournament games are on.

Gunna be firing up the grill in a little bit. Happy Sunday All. ;-D

Have some pics to add from this past weekend while fishing below Gavins Point Dam, Nebraska side.

Just a hair over 21" and 3.5 pounds. Caught a lot of small walleye, but the sauger we caught were really good sized fish. And a species I hadn't caught before.

A couple other species that were firsts for me...

Caught some drum and a bunch of white bass as well.

Crappie was a surprise.

Another solid sauger.

My buddy snagged this paddlefish on his 6'6" UL rod on 5 pound test line and landed it!

Always nice to lose track of how many fish you catch. Definitely a memorable experience.
