The real problem is Cower. He is a players coach. Bogus Ben, says he wants to play, and Cower never says no. He did the same thing w/ Cordell Stewart. Everyone remember a few weeks back when Ben wanted Cower to throw the red flag. Cower didn't want to but did, cause Ben told him to. It turned out, ben never even saw the play in question and it cost the Steelers a TO. Bottom line is, as long as he gets Medical clearance, Ben will play. He is too much of an egotistical idiot, to put his team first and take the bench. And Cower is too much of a Pu#$y to say no.

Can't blame Cowher all that much though. If Ben says he's OK and none of the doctors on the Steeler's staff say otherwise, it's tough to bench your QB who's had so much success the past two years.
Ben has had as much bad luck himself as anyone in the NFL has ever had. Kinda feel sorry for him, but he should have sat his butt down after his concussion.

i completely disagree. its pretty easy to bench your quarterback if he was knocked unconscious for about 5 minutes the week before. it makes it easier if you have the best backup quarterback in the league to fill in for him.
Kudos to Leber for the amazing sig and to Metroid for the userbar and making them both fit 2008 and 2009 Defunct Dynasty League Champion
Not sure if anone else has heard this rumor or not, but wanted to know if others have also heard it. Charlie Weiss is talking with Notre Dame to be released early. The rumor speculated this was so he could head to Pittsburgh after Cowher departs. That's all it is at this point, but someone's talking.

That's kind of funny. The dude just barely got a contract extension. He's not going anywhere. Whether or not Cowher decides to retire after this season has yet to be seen.
Prying Weis out of Notre Dame is going to be a pricey endeavour. He got a 10 year extention worth somewhere between $30-$40 million dollars. So it would probably cost about $50 million to get him away from Notre Dame. I don't think even Dan Snyder would be willing to shell out that much cash.
