Absolutely not. If anything, it shows you what concussions do. Trent Green is taking at least two months to come back, yet the Steelers play a guy the next week.
Less so, it shows that there was some impact in losing Jerome Bettis, Chris Hope, and Randle El.
i agree; a concussion is an injury you have to take care with, and with charlie batch being an amazing backup quarterback, cowher didnt need to take the chance of playing ben.
as for losses, all of them had some impact, but none were insurmountable. bettis is looking like a bigger loss than expected; he cannot be replaced in the locker room, and the steelers have suffered in short yardage. randle el has hurt the most on punt returns, but the receivers are looking better each week. hines is always great, and cedric, nate washington, and holmes are giving the steelers a good top 4 receivers. hope hurt a bit, but clark has filled in pretty well, and it was going to be impossible to retain hope for the money he wanted.
last season wasnt a fluke. winning 8 games in a row is no fluke. i still have faith in ben; i dont think he was ready to play. i mean, he was unconscious for about 5 minutes after that hit. i dont care what the doctors say he can or cant do; you cant take that risk. or you can and have this happen.
