Benson to get more carries?

I heard that Benson is going to start getting more carries, playing every third series and in goaline packages. But I have been unable to verify it. Does anybody know if this is true?

Benson will be used in goal line packages and every third series at the least. -- It's official; the Bears have gone from starting Thomas Jones to running back by committee.

benson got a TD, but i didn't see him getting a lot of carries...

As long as Chicago is killing people like they did today then Benson will definately be getting his share of carries.

I've tried to tell people that Chicago doesn't have a designated 3rd down back or a goal-line back like some teams do, but it seems to go nowhere, hehe. Chicago lets whatever RB who has gotten to the endzone take first crack at the endzone.

So to those people who look at game stats and see that Benson has a TD today, he got it on his own when he came in to spell TJ. He did not vulture from TJ.

This game was a rout very early on and the split was 23/8 in carries. That pretty much tells you how many carries Benson can expect if T Jones is healthy all year... he'll get one-third the carries Jones does.

I'd expect point totals similar to Brandon Jacobs, even though I agree with the previous poster's point that he's not the traditional "vulture" RB.
