Vick is for Real!! He's a Beast!!

For all of those jumping on the Vick bandwagon after these games I have two words for you:

Kordell Stewart.

He made the Pro Bowl a couple years back with a season that "silenced the critics" and what did he do from there?

Vick needs to do this more often, more consistently, and for an extended period of time before I will believe the past 5 years are the aberration and this new proficiency is the truth.

Yea, I agree. 2 games of good play means that it's possible he could have turned the corner, but you cannot base a conclusion off of just 2 games. I do think we need to see this "new Vick" perform consistently a little more before we say he's the real deal. Just far too much history of inconsistent, poor play to prove he's changed after just 2 games.

i dont put it all on the WRs just now showing up...vick has always had a cannon arm, but he has lacked accuracy. thats my main concern with vicks passing game. he obviously has a great run game, but until he can consistently be an accurate passer...he is too inconsistent for my liking fantasy wise.

sure....vicks game against the squeelers was impressive, but his game today against the bengals was predictable. they have only had 3 games this year that a team hasnt thrown for at least 2 TDs against them...and their rush D is pathetic.

i do admit vick has serious potential...and if he does get his passing game going, he will be a major force...but until he does it more than twice in a row...one of them against a lackluster defense, im not jumping on the bandwagon. he has been too inconsistent over the course of years for me to believe after 2 games.

I wasn't agreeing with that point....if you noticed I didn't say anything about him being like Kordell Stewart.

It was quite clear if you actually read my post without assuming there is something wrong with it that I wasn't even touching on that part of what he said. I was clearly only referring to Vick's past history of inconsistency and the fact that he needs to show more of that consistency before I believe that he has actually turned the corner.

Please read posts for what they actually say, not for what you are looking for them to say so you can argue with them.

You think 2 good passing games in a row is a hint of consistency? I want to see Vick play like a real QB for a few seasons in a row before I start believing that he can actually throw the ball consistently well.

2 good passing games doesn't erase this:

Game 1: 10/22 (45.5%) 140 yards 2 TD's
Game 2: 10/15 (66.7%) 92 yards 1 TD 1 INT
Game 3: 12/31 (38.7%) 137 yards
Game 4: 13/22 (59.1%) 153 yards 1 INT
Game 5: 14/27 (51.9%) 154 yards 1 INT

So the 5 game total before his 2 good passing games was:

59/117 (50.4%) 676 yards (135.2/game) 3 TD's 3 INT's

If Vick couldn't run the ball he would've been holding a clipboard years ago.

Not to jump in on the Kordell comparison... but I'd compare Vick's QB play (rushing QB) to Kordell, and a few other crappy/average QBs.

Other great rushing QBs are Cunningham, John Elway, Steve Young...

However, I would not disrespect any of those guys by putting Vick's name in the same sentence as them... until Vick becomes elite (which may be never)... he deserves to be lumped into the Kordell category.

Deal with it Vick homers.

I don't think Vick can really be compared to anyone. Seriously. He is an amazing athlete at a position that this isn't a necessity. He's an absolute joy to watch. That being said, he's a consistently horrible option for fantasy purposes.

Au contraire my friend. Vick is a top 3 QB in my league and consistantly produces. 10 rush yards per point. 25 pass per point. 4 for pass TD, 6 for a rush TD. Good thing I drafted him

He was probably referring more to every single year before this one....which is why I'm sure so many people are hesitant to trust that he's really turned the corner because he's been such a terrible fantasy QB for so long.

NFL defenses will adjust... I still would rather have a bunch of other QBs instead of Vick.

I wouldn't trust him for a second in my FF playoffs.
