Browns' Jones named Player of the Week

Browns safety Sean Jones was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week, the NFL announced this morning.

Jones was a key part of the Browns defense that forced three turnovers and limited the Jets to a season-low 193 net yards of total offense in the Browns' 20-13 home win Sunday.

Jones, 6-1 and 215 lbs., currently leads the team and is tied for the NFL lead with four interceptions and also ranks third on the team with 42 tackles. The last Browns defensive back to earn AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors was Anthony Henry in 2001, and the last Browns safety was Eric Turner in 1994.

Jones recorded a career-high two interceptions, along with three solo tackles and one pass defensed against the Jets.

In other news, the Browns placed practice squad OL Andrew Hoffman on injured reserve and have signed DB Antonio Perkins to the practice
squad.
