Is Peyton going to kill me in the playoffs??

Postby jlfn56 » Fri Nov 03, 2006 12:03 pm

With the colts being such a powerhouse they will probably coast into the playoffs, do you think that Peyton Manning will be a waste to me in the playoffs? I'm thinking the colts will bench him or limit his time in the last couple games....I'm easily going to coast into my playoffs.....is it time to look at trading Peyton because of this situation?????

He'll sit week 17. He'll probably play week 16. He'll almost definitely play week 15. It all depends on your playoff schedule.

Unless your championship game is Week 17, I wouldn't even consider trading him. If they have a seed locked up, he'll only play sparingly in Week 16, so you may want to find a replacement for that week.

Everyone should know this about Manning going in... He'll be a stud all year, and kill you in the Championship game... Now is not the time to trade Manning, but now IS the time to pick up Brad Johnson as a back-up...

Johnson faces the league's worst passing defense (Green Bay) in week 16, and the game should be a shoot-out, as both teams compete for the last wild card spot in the NFC... Mark my words...

The only thing that will be getting killed by Peyton Manning in the playoffs is the Colts' season.

I don't think he will kill you. Though, you might want to take Plindsey's advice and grab Brad Johnson if you're weak at QB2.

The Colts aren't going 13-0 this year, and I think they'll have to fight til the end to lock up homefield advantage. With how bad their defense is playing, the Colts are bound to lose a few games soon. I expect the Patriots to get the W this Sunday.

Same here- root for a high-scoring loss this weekend vs. NE, so they'll have to battle all year for home-field. Worst case, he sits or plays 1/2 in week 16, so have somebody just in case with a good match-up that week. Even if they have it locked up, I'm not sure they'll sit their studs since it didn't work out so well for them last year.
14 Teams, each keep 14 players

RB: MJD, Westy, C. Johnson, A. Bradshaw, J. Ringer
WR: TO, Driver, J. Gage, Crabtree, J. Morgan, K. Curtis, E. Bennett, M. Sims-Walker
TE: Witten, M. Lewis
K: Gostkowski, J. Brown
D/ST: Tenn, NE

if the colts were smart, they would play their starters through week 17. the colts always seem to go into the playoffs looking rusty, and maybe its time to just let them play all year and not rest them the last week or 2.

I think playing all 17 weeks would do nothing but help their chances in the playoffs.
